Join ABBGS for our General Assembly Meeting. We will discuss events for the month of March, including the DBBS Minority Revisit Weekend (March 22-25th), and all updates from the last meeting. The Director of outreach at the Genome Sequencing Center will also stop by to discuss touring opportunities at the GSC. Bring a friend, bring ideas, and most importantly bring yourself!!!

Join ABBGS for a panel discussion on navigating academia as a black scientist. Four postdoctoral fellows here at Washington University and the Genome Sequencing Center share their professional insight on traveling through the rigors of graduate school and the climate that exist presently for under-represented scientist in the field of academia.
The population of black postodocs makes up less than 1% of the total population of WashU postdocs. Take this opportunity to speak with members of this special community about professional planning and the challenges of addressing workforce diversity along the pipeline.
This is definitely an event that you do not want to miss!
FREE Lunch will be provided, so if you would like to attend please reply to this email and indicate if you will require a vegetarian lunch.

Lessons are free and are from 8:30pm-9:30pm. Those who arrive after 9:30pm, ladies enter free and guys get a cover discount.

Join ABBGS for Powell Symphony’s “Lift Every Voice: Black History Month Celebration” concert. This is a free event sponsored by the St. Louis Symphony and will feature selections from Undine Smith Moore and Duke Ellington.
Box office opens at 6:30pm. Since this is a free event to the general public, we encourage you to arrive early to obtain a ticket.
